Last Friday I had been discharged from the Hospital so it was with confidence that I returned to the Running Club on Tuesday evening. It was a beautiful evening, the sun was out and there was a cool gentle breeze.
On this return, I was determined not to get carried away and run with my usual group of runners. I hung back at the start and let them get ahead. I was then able to go at my own pace and another runner called Ann joined me. We stuck together for the duration of the run. It was a comfortable pace for most of the way, but a lot longer than I had been running for a while. Towards the end I was finding it a struggle, but we stuck in there and kept it going.
It was a lovely run, going down to the River and across the meadows. We then ran towards Castor but cut off the road and went down the track by the railway line. We then ran around the small lake and then on back to the start.
Distance: 6 miles
Time: 1:07
This Blog started out as a record of my efforts to compete in the Gt Eastern Half Marathon 2006. Since then I entered but had to withdraw from Flora London Marathon 2008 due to injury. After having to take months off to recover I am now ready and willing to become a runner again!
